Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Additional information

Nickel bis(dihydrogen phosphate) is a highly water soluble inorganic substance similar to Nickel sulphate (EC-No: 232-104-9). As there are only marginal data and studies available for Nickel bis(dihydrogen phosphate) on ecotoxicity, fate and human toxicity the Nickel sulphate data (and data of other Nickel compounds with comparable water solubility and the same effect releasing Nickel ion) are used for read-across.

Studies marked as read-across without mentioning the testing material are performed with Nickel sulphate (NiSO4).

Toxicity to other aquatic organisms

Amphibians:

NOEC/L(E)C10 data are available for three species of amphibians, with values ranging from 84.5 µg Ni/L to 13,147 µg Ni/L, both values from Xenopus laevis (Hopfer et al., 1991).

The following table indicates those NOEC or EC10 values of high quality that have been carried forward for the HC5 & PNEC derivation
