Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Key result
Test procedure:
other: burning index according to VDI 2263
Remarks on result:
other: burning index BZ 3
Remarks:
localized combustion or glowing with practically no spreading

Any other information on results incl. tables

The product showed only localized burning when an ignition source (flame or hot wire, 2 min) was applied at ambient temperature. No propagation of the combustion was observed. The product did not melt.

The combustion behaviour of the product at ambient temperature is characterized by the burning index BZ 3 (localized combustion or glowing with practically no spreading)

Due to the fact that no propagation of the combustion was observed the burning rate did not need to be determined.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
Combustion Number (BZ) 3 was determined.
Therefore, the substance has not to be classified as flammable solid according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
