Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance is with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic algae. No acute toxic effects occur at the range of solubility.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A static test according to OECD 201 and GLP including analytical monitoring was conducted to investigate the toxicity to aquatic algae using Scenedesmus subspicatus (RCC GmbH & Co KG 1994c). Due to the low solubility of the test substance an auxiliary emulsifier Tween 80 was used for the dosage of the test substance with a very low water solubility. Concentrations in excess of 40 mg/l could not been tested, because this was the maximum concentration far above the water solubility of the test substance which could be brought homogeneously into test water by use of 100 mg/l of the auxiliary emulsifier Tween 80. Two experimental set ups were used to exclude indirect effect by the light absorption in the strongly coloured test media. A real toxic effect of the test substance on the algal cells can be excluded up to at least the concentration of 40 mg test substance/L far above the water solubility of the test substance. Therefore, no acute toxic effects occur within the range of solubility.
