Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately rinse eyes thoroughly with running water while
holding the eyelids open.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Rinse contaminated skin with
water using soap if available.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Clean mouth with water and subsequently drink plenty of
water. Obtain medical assistance.
Fire-fighting measures
foam.
Product arising from burning: Toxic fumes containing oxides of Carbon and Nitrogen.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Safety goggles and disposable gloves must be worn. Also a
breathing apparatus or other protective equipment (e.g.
positive pressure supplied air respirator) to ensure
respiratory protection must be used.
Accidental release measures
(wearing suitable protective equipment / clothing) and
incinerate in the site solid waste incinerator which is
specifically licenced for that purpose.
Handling and storage
good personal hygiene practices. Avoid dust
generation. Suitable respiratory protective equipment (full
facemask with ABEK filter - EN146) must be worn if there is
any potential for exposure to dust. Safety spectacles,
disposable gloves (EN 374) and suitable protective
clothing must be worn (Tyvek classic suit -EN 465, EN1149).
Precautionary measures must be taken against static
discharges. Avoid sources of ignition.
An LEV is utilised in the form of a laminar flow unit which
has a flow velocity of 2 meters per second.
Storage: Store in accordance with standard storage regulations.
Sealed in PE bags placed in fibre drums. Storage
temperature between 0 and 20°C. Protected from direct
sunlight and excessive temperatures.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 100 l fibreboard drums with polyethylene liners.

Stability and reactivity
Chemical reaction with water: No reaction
Dust explosion: A dust explosion test was performed in the 20 l ball with
10000 J. The explosion which was observed afterwards was
graded 1 (out from gradings 1 to 3, with 3 being the
heaviest explosion). The pressure produced by this explosion
was determined to be 8.2 bar, Kst: 163 bar*m*s-1.
Dust explosion determined by test: Y
