Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Waiving of study:
The study that examines oxidising properties (required in REACH Regulation 1907/2006/EC Annex VII section 7.13), can be omitted in the case of the substance disodium disilicate (delta-crystalline) as the substance does not contain functional groups that belong to the class of compounds that reveal oxidising properties (refer to “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R7a). In addition a structural analogous, sodium aluminium silicate, is already known to possess no oxidising properties as was stated in DAR (Draft Assessment Report)-Sodium Aluminium Silicate – Vol. 1, Sep 2008.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the structure of the molecule and taking into account the provisions laid down in Council Directive 67/548/EEC and CLP (GHS), disodium disilicate (delta-crystalline) does not have to be classified with respect to oxidising properties.
