WATER SOLUBILITY: CONFIRMATORY TEST

Five times the concentration recorded from preliminary solubility = 810.64 mg/L × 5 = 4053.2 mg/L was used for confirmatory

study. Two separate solution of 405.32 mg in 100 ml DI water were prepared and kept for stirring for 48 hrs and 72 hrs. After

the completion of stirring period the absorbance for all the two solution were recorded and concentration was detected on the

basis of standard curve. Table 2 refers to the same.

Considering the water solubility for 48 hrs and 72 hrs the mean water solubility was calculated as follows:

Mean water solubility value for 48 hour run sample + 72 hour run sample

=(2666.68+2417.92)/2

=2542.3 mg/L

Conclusions:
The water solubility of the test chemical was determined to be 2542.3 mg/L at 25°C.
Executive summary:

The water solubility determination of test chemical was done as per the OECD guideline 105 by spectrophotometric analytical method as per OECD 101. The solubility of of test chemical in water was determined to be 2542.3 mg/L at 25°C.

Additional information

The water solubility determination of test chemical was done as per the OECD guideline 105 by spectrophotometric analytical method as per OECD 101. The solubility of of test chemical in water was determined to be 2542.3 mg/L at 25°C.

Based on available experimental report the solubility of Cinnamyl alcohol  in water was detrmined by Shake flask method, and was determined to be 10000 mg/l at temperature of 27 deg C.

Other supporting data from authoritative and modelling databases, also supported the selected key study and exhibited the solubilty of

Cinnamyl alcohol at 25 deg C as 6188 mg/l.

Based on the experimental and estimated value, the test substance Cinnamyl alcohol was considered to be soluble in water.
