First-aid measures

- General information:

Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.

Take affected persons out into the fresh air.

Seek immediate medical advice.

- After inhalation:

In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation.

Provide oxygen treatment if affected person has difficulty breathing.

If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth to mouth.

- After skin contact: After contact with skin, wash immediately almost 15 minutes with plenty of water.

- After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for almost 15 minutes under running water.

- After swallowing:

Call for a doctor immediately.

Rinse mouth out with water.

Do not induce vomiting.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

- Suitable extinguishing agents:

Carbon dioxide, dry chemicals, foam, water spray (mist).

Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions.

- For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Water with full jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

High temperatures may liberate toxic or corrosive gases. Do not breathe smoke or vapours.

Advice for firefighters

- Protective equipment:

Mouth respiratory protective device.

Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.

Wear fully protective suit.

- Additional information Cool endangered receptacles with water spray.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.

Environmental precautions:

Prevent from spreading (e.g. by damming-in or oil barriers).

Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Take up small spills with dry chemical absorbent.

Large spills may be taken up with pump or vacuum and finished off with dry chemical absorbent.

May require excavation of contaminated soil. Shovel up residues and place in a labelled sealable container for subsequent safe disposal. Put leaking container into a labelled drum or overdrum.

Residue may be washed down with water.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety procedures.

Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.

Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.

- Information about fire - and explosion protection:

Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke.

Protect against electrostatic charges.

Use explosion-proof apparatus / fittings and spark-proof tools.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

- Storage:

- Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Store in dry, cool, well-ventilated area.

- Information about storage in one common storage facility: Not required.

- Further information about storage conditions:

Keep container tightly sealed.

Open receptacle only under localized extractor facilities.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls

- Personal protective equipment:

- General protective and hygienic measures:

The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals.

Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed.

Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work.

- Respiratory protection:

In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device.

- Protection of hands:

Protective gloves

The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation.

Due to missing tests no recommendation to the glove material can be given for the product/ the preparation/the chemical mixture.

Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation

- Material of gloves

The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Rubber gloves

Neoprene gloves

- Penetration time of glove material

The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

- Eye protection: Tightly sealed goggles

- Body protection: Use protective suit.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability

- Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided:

Stable under normal conditions of use.

Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: No dangerous reactions known.

Conditions to avoid: No further relevant information available.

Incompatible materials:

Protect from humidity and water.

Keep away from heat.

Reacts with oxidizing agents.

Avoid contact with metals.

Reacts with strong alkali.

Avoid contact with aluminium, magnesium, zinc.

Hazardous decomposition products:

Halogenated compounds.

Hydrogen bromide

Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

- Recommendation: Must not be disposed together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage system.

Uncleaned packaging:

- Recommendation: Disposal must be made according to official regulations.
