Description of key information

No experimental data on the substance was available, thus the assessement was based on predictions carried out EPI Suite and considerations on physicochemical properties and technical function of the substance.

The substance was found to be hydrolytically stable in studies on water solubility and partition coefficient, as shown by photometric measurements at different pH values, as well as based on its technical function. Indeed, it is used as a dye and the dyeing process occurs at high temperatures and acidic pH conditions, i.e. at temperature from 90 to 120 °C and pH from 3 to 4.5.

It was expected to be non-ready biodegradable, based on its chemical structure and its technical function as a dye. This was confirmed by a prediction with EPI Suite.

A low adsorption potential was expected due to the low log Pow of -0.3993 and the high water solubility of 25.22 g/l. Accordingly, a high affinity with the aqueous phase and a high mobility was expected.
