Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash with soap and water.
Eyes: In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
Inhalation: Move the exposed person to fresh air. If irritation persists, consult a physician.
Ingestion: If discomfort develops, consult a physician or poison control centre. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by a physician.
Advice to physician: Product is of low toxicity. Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media: Water fog, foam, dry chemical powder or water spray. Avoid solid stream of water if liquid is heated to ignition, as this may spread burning liquid.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Sealed containers can rupture violently when exposed to fire. Thermal decomposition or combustion may liberate carbon oxides and other toxic gases or vapours.
Advice for firefighters: Self contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire. Avoid eye contact with the liquid.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Skin protection: wear rubber or neoprene gloves and coveralls. A rubber apron is recommended for liquid transfer operations.
Eye protection: Wear safety glasses with eye shields or chemical safety goggles. Avoid the use of contact lenses for liquid transfer and handling operations.
Respiratory protection: Not required for properly ventilated areas. For areas containing product mists, use an air purifying respirator equipped with an organic vapour cartridge.
Environmental precautions:
Do not allow to enter natural waterways or sewers.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Small spills: soak up with absorbent material such as vermiculite. Place into containers but do not seal them.
Large spills: contain spillage eg. by dike, and pump into suitable containers for disposal. Ventillate enclosed areas during cleanup.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
Avoid spilling, skin and eye contact. Avoid forming spray/aerosol mists. Eye wash facilities must be available when handling this product.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Store in tightly closed original container in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep in original container. Store away from moisture, isocyanates and oxidising agents. Do not roll drums. Move drums with a suitably equipped fork lift.
Product life is approximately 180 days when stored between 10 to 50°C (50 to 120°F) under an inert atmosphere such as nitrogen. Do not allow to become contaminated with other materials.

Exposure controls / personal protection
1. Technical protection measures: Good general ventialtion should be sufficient for most conditions. Local exhaust ventilation may be necessary for some operations including transfer of liquids.
2. Hand protection: wear rubber or neoprene gloves and coveralls. A rubber apron is recommended for liquid transfer operations.
3. Eye protection: Wear safety glasses with eye shields or chemical safety goggles. Avoid the use of contact lenses for liquid transfer and handling operations.
4. Respiratory protection: Not required for properly ventilated areas. For areas containing product mists, use an air purifying respirator equipped with an organic vapour cartridge.
Stability and reactivity
Chemical stability: Stable under normal temperature conditions and recommended use.
Incompatible materials:
Acids - may react with product.
Oxidising agents - may ignite product.
Isocyanates and moisture - contamination can cause a reaction and an increase in pressure. Contaminated product should never be placed in a sealed container. Never attempt to open a drum which has expanded. Call BioBased Technologies if this occurs.
Hazardous decomposition products:
Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and organic residues. Hazardous polymerisation will not occur.
Disposal considerations
Liquid product should be incinerated in a licenced facility in accordance with local and national regulations. Do not discharge to waterways or sewer systems or dispose of on to the ground.
Under no circumstances should a torch, welder, plasma cutter or similar tool capable of producing an arc be used on empty containers regardless of whether the container has been rinsed or cleaned. Containers should be punctured with a non-sparking tool and disposed of in a licenced facility or landfill.
