Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In an OECD 111 hydrolysis test, the major components of reaction mass of 2,2'-[methylenebis(oxymethylene)bis[2-ethylpropane-1,3-diol] and 2,2'-[oxybis(methylene)]bis[2-ethylpropane-1,3-diol] and propylidynetrimethanol were found to be less than 10% degraded under test conditions. Therefore, no further hydrolysis tests are considered necessary.

Additional information

An OECD 111 study was carried out on the test substance reaction mass of 2,2'-[methylenebis(oxymethylene)bis[2-ethylpropane-1,3-diol] and 2,2'-[oxybis(methylene)]bis[2-ethylpropane-1,3-diol] and propylidynetrimethanol. The test was carried out using buffers of pH 4, 7 and 9. The test solutions were divided in two, half stored at -20oC and the other half stored at 50oC for 5 days. After 5 days the pH was measured and the substances analysed using HPLC. The major components of the test substance were found to be less than 10% degraded under test conditions.
