Executive summary:

INTRODUCTION

Hazardous physico-chemical properties of the test item have been determined. Methods employed were designed to be compatible with Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, Part A: Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties

Method

The auto-ignition temperature was determined by heating aliquots of the test item in a flask and observing for any ignition. Testing was conducted using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A15 Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

Conclusion

The test item was determined to have an auto-ignition temperature of 280 ± 5°C.

Description of key information

The auto-ignition temperature of the test substance was determined to be 280 +/- 5 °C using a method compatible with EC test method A.15 and executed under GLP conditions (Atwal et al., 2010).
