Handling and storage

At the arrival TAEM is stored in the raw materials ware-house (quarantine area).

Sampling is managed following an internal procedure.

The substance is loaded from the container into the reactor through a manhole; it is added to a methylene chloride, methanol and 1-{[(6R,7R)-7-amino-2-carboxy-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicycle-[4,2,0]oct-2-ene-3-yl]-methyl}-pyridinium iodide (CEFTA 1) mixture at temperature of 0-3 °C. The procedure is managed under local ventilation and scrubber to prevent any significant release of the substance. The scrubber is loaded with an 10% (w/w) soda solution.

The exhausted soda is sent to an internal disposal unit for incineration. The mother waters are collected in a receiver and sent to external authorised company for disposal or recovery.

The empty containers (polythene bags and cardboard drums ) are sent to an external disposal unit.

Sampling, analysis, storage, loading and unloading of equipment, cleaning and waste disposal are managed under exhaust ventilation and scrubber to prevent any significant release of the substance.

During these processes workers follow an internal procedure and wear appropriate PPE.

Only trained and authorised personnel handle the substance.
