Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Testing for toxicity to terrestrial organisms is not considered necessary because:

- The substance hydrolyses rapidly and its hydrolysis product has a Log Kow < 3, therefore, partitioning to the terrestrial compartment is expected to be minimal.

- The substance is used under highly controlled conditions and, therefore, exposure of soil is low.

- PNECsoil has been calculated from PNECaquatic (freshwater) on the basis of the equilibrium partitioning method; the risk characterisation ratio (RCR) based on PNECsoil is <1.

Additional information could be obtained from the comparable substance, N-(3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl) ethylenediamine (CAS 1760-24-3) for the toxicity on soil macroorganisms. A 14-day LC50 of >1000 mg/kg dry weight and NOEC of ≥1000 mg/kg dry weight have been determined for the effects of the test substance on mortality of Eisenia foetida. A NOEC of ≥1000 mg/kg dry weight has also been determined for effects on growth. It is likely that under the moist test conditions employed in the test that the test organisms were exposed to the hydrolysis products of the substance.
