Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water and consult a doctor.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with plenty of water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use normal extinguishing agents (water mist, foam, carbon

dioxide, dry powder). Products of decomposition may include

oxides of nitrogen.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: During manufacture of the microcapsules: In powder form:

collect the powder, put it in a controlled waste disposal

unit or incinerate it in an authorised installation. In

solution form: soak up on absorbant material and incinerate

in an authorised installation. When using the paper: Not

applicable

Handling and storage

Handling: During manufacture of the microcapsules: Minimise exposure

by use of standard occupational hygiene and good

housekeeping procedures. Weigh out in an enclosed area.

Prevent dust formation. If it is produced, take adequate

steps to see that it is not inhaled. Wear eye/face

protection, head covering and gloves. When using paper: No

special precautions.

Storage: No special precautions. Storage area should be kept dry.

encapsulated and embedded in paper, the substance cannot be

recovered.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: as for accidental spillage (See Section 2.4)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: No problems envisaged. Water purification systems:Should

not be found in significant quantities in effluents.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form

of microencapsules in paper which may be disposed of as

normal domestic household waste.
