Description of key information

The 48-h EC50 of Daphnia magna expsoeed to the test item was estimated to be higher than a loading rate of 100 mg/L.

Additional information

The acute toxicity to aquatic invertebrates was assessed in two studies according to OECD guideline 202 and EU-method C.2.

In the first study (ECT 2006) daphnids were exposed to a loading rate of 100 mg/L for 48 hours under static conditions. The 48-hour NOEC and the 48-hour EC0 of the test item toDaphnia magna were determined at a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L (mean measured 0.12 mg/L). The 48 -hour EC50 and the 48-hour EC100 were determined to be greater than 100 mg/L nominal concentration (mean measured 0.12 mg/L).

In the second study (Bayer, 1999) no effect on Daphnia magna in the presence of a weighed-in quantity of 1 mg/L of the test item was observed.

The results of both studies demonstrate no toxic effects of the test item at the range of the water solubility.
