Guideline:
EPA OPPTS 850.1075 (Freshwater and Saltwater Fish Acute Toxicity Test)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Analytical monitoring:
no
Details on sampling:
A concentration related turbidity and sedimentation of the test item was observed throughout the test period.
pH, temperature and oxygen saturation were measured in all vessels at the beginning of the test and at every 24h interval.
No control analyses were conducted according to guidleine recommendatiosn. All effect values are based onn nominal concentrations.
Total hardness, residual chlorine and TOC of the dilution water were determined at the beginning of the test. Room temperature was continuously recorded.
Details on test solutions:
No vehicles used to dissolve test item.
Test organisms (species):
Oncorhynchus mykiss (previous name: Salmo gairdneri)
Details on test organisms:
- All fish originated from same supplier
- Holding was performed at 12+/-2 degreews celsius. Water was changed at least once per week.
- Only fish with at least 12 days of acclimatisation and mortality <5% were used in the study.
- Tap water of local origin used for holding and testing
Test type:
static
Water media type:
freshwater
Limit test:
yes
Total exposure duration:
96 h
Hardness:
40-180 mg CaCO3/L
