Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment.
Fire-fighting measures
Product arising from burning: Substance itself does not present a fire hazard. If involved
in a fire, mainly nitric oxides, carbon oxides as well as
sulfur-, iron- and sodium compounds may be produced.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.
Accidental release measures
or discharge by incineration in suitable plant. For spillage
absorb with adequate absorber and discharge by incineration
in suitable plant or by dumping in licensed landfill site.
Handling and storage
be observed.
If the substance is handled as a powder, do not inhale dust
and wear dust mask.
Storage: The containers should be stored tightly closed in
unbreakable containers in adequate rooms (eg. in
polyethylene bags in steel drums).

Special provisions / remarks
- Remarks:
- Transport: The product will be shipped thightly closed in adequate
containers e.g. in polyethylene bags in sealed steeldrums.
Avoid unintentional spilling of the substance by taking
adequate precautions.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Stability and reactivity
Chemical reaction with water: Does not react with water.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
by irreversible binding to leather.
Recovery for recycling of the remaining highly water soluble
substance is not reasonably practical.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No unacceptable risks. Therefore no applicable.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Discharge in a controlled deposit is possible.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Discarge by incineration in suitable plant possible.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: It is estimated that far less than 5% of the total quantity
used is discharged into internal industrial effluents as a
highly diluted solution. Dye-houses and papermills are well
aware of this waste.water and remedy it by installing
prepurification plants. Parts of it will be discharged into
industrial effluents.
