Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Not given
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water
Emergency measure - Skin: Rinse immediately with plenty of water
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Not given
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulphur together with some soot and hydrogen
fluoride gas. Water, foam, carbon dioxide and dry powder
are suitable extinguishing agents. A self-contained
breathing apparatus is recommended.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: As recommended in the manufacturer's Safety Sheets for
similar dyestuffs: for scattered dry product, gather up;
for solutions, absorb in inert material; and then dispose
of in a suitable incinerator or land-fill site.
Handling and storage
Handling: The standard procedures of good occupational hygeine and
the usual precautions for handling dyestuffs should be
observed.
Storage: No special precautions.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery and re-use of used dyestuff is not practical.
Contaminated dyestuff can be purified by crystallisation
from water.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous effects.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: possible for the dry dyestuff; waste dyestuff solutions are
generally too dilute to burn, but this can be done if they
are first sprayed onto domestic refuse and burnt together.
As usual for such dyestuffs, the nitrogen, sulphur and
halogens will yield acidic gases and special treatment and
of the smoke emissions may be required (to remove nitrogen
and sulphur oxides and hydrogen fluoride gas.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: organic dyestuffs in waste-water are not biodegraded by
aerobic means during a short treatment period; however they
are removed by precipitation or adsorption in the sludge in
sewage purification stations. Other: by deposition in a
land-fill site provided it is isolated to avoid seepage and
the corresponding rules and local provisions are observed.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from dyed articles or from formulations is not
practical.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous effects.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance will enter the public domain in the form of
dyed articles which may be disposed of with normal domestic
waste.
