First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure, keep warm and at rest.  Obtain

immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately irrigate with eyewash solution or clean water,

holding the eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes.

Continue irrigation until medical attention can be obtained.

Emergency measure - Skin: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of

water.  Remove contaminated clothing.  Obtain immediate

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water and give 200-300ml of water to

drink.  Do not induce vomiting.  Obtain immediate medical

attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry powder carbon dioxide or polar resistant foam.  Water

may be used if no other available and then in copious

quantities.

Product arising from burning: Highly flammable.  The material exhibited train firing

properties.  Flammable Dust.  This material can form

flammable dust clouds in air at normal ambient temperatures.

If involved in a fire, it may emit noxious and toxic

fumes.  Combustion products may include: carbon monoxide,

carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur oxides.

Protective equipment: A self contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective

clothing should be worn in fire conditions.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Ensure suitable personal protection during removal of

spillages.  Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and

eye/face protection.  Wear suitable respiratory protective

equipment if exposure to levels above the occupational

exposure limit is likely.

Eliminate sources of ignition.  Avoid dust generation.

Moisten spillages with water.  Clear up spillages.  Transfer

to a container for disposal.  Wash the spillage area with

water.  Prevent entry into drains, sewers or watercourses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Control dust formation.  Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact

with skin and eyes.  Keep away from sources of ignition - No

Smoking.  Take precautionary measures against static

discharges.

Storage: Keep container tightly closed, in a cool, well ventilated

place.  Keep away from direct sunlight.  Storage temperature

2-8 deg C.  Storage life >2 years.
