Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
The registered substance is a complex petroleum UVCB whose constituents have variable physicochemical properties. Therefore, a modeling framework is needed to account for the bioavailability of the constituents in the mixture, which was then used to predict the toxicity of the substance as a whole. The target lipid model (TLM) and HC5, have been applied to soils and sediment using equilibrium partitioning (EqP) model. As such, modeled data are considered fit for purpose.
Earthworms
The predicted LC50 for earthwarns was 2606 mg/kg dw soil and the EC10 was 499 mg/kg dw soil (McGrathe et al., 2015).
Terrestrial arthropods
The predicted LC50 for soil arthropods was 1466 mg/kg dw soil and the EC10 was 281 mg/kg dw soil (McGrath et al., 2015).
Terrestrial plants
For terrestrial plants Avena sativa and Brassica rapa the predicted LC50s were 6689 and 4325 mg/kg dw soil, and the EC10s were 1283 and 829 mg/kg dw soil respectively (McGrath et al., 2015).
Birds
In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex X, studies on long-term or reproductive toxicity to birds studies do not need to be conducted due to the existence of a large mammalian dataset demonstrating low toxicity to higher organisms.
