Endpoint:
pyrophoric solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be soluble in water to form a stable mixture
Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
22.03.2021-25.03.2021
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
0 s
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period
Remarks:
After applying the flame to the sample, it melt but did not ignite. Combustion did not propagate to the next part of the train.

Interpretation of results:
other: Not classified (CLP Regulations EC No 1272/2008)
Conclusions:
The test item is not highly flammable according to the EU A.10 method criteria.
Executive summary:

The determination of the flammability of the test item was performed in accordance to EU A.10 guidelines, under GLP conditions. A preliminary screening test was carried out but the result was negative, as the test item did not ignite. Therefore, it was determined that the test item is not highly flammable.

Description of key information

- Flammability: Key study. Method according to EU A.10 guidelines, GLP study. After conducting the preliminary screening tests, it was determined that the test item is not highly flammable.

- Pyrophoricity: Data waiving (study scientifically not necessary): Based on structure and experience on handling, the substance is known to be non-pyrophoric.

- Flammability in contact with water: Data waiving (study scientifically not necessary): The substance is not classified as flammable in contact with water based on the chemical structure and the experience in handling / use which shows that the substance does not react with water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

Key study. Method according to EU Method A.10, GLP conditions. A preliminary screening test was carried out but the result was negative, as the test item did not ignite. Therefore, it was determined that the test item is not highly flammable.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the available information, the substance is not classified for flammability in accordance with CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
