Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the substance to freshwater invertebrates and green algae was studied under GLP in valid and reliable tests. The substance exhibited acute toxicity to the water flea (Daphnia magna) exposed to test substance concentrations >10 mg/L for 24 or 48 hours. The 48-hour EC50 value based on immobilisation was 15 mg/L. The substance also inhibited the growth of freshwater green algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) over a test period of 72 hours, and a clear dose-response relationship was observed over the range of test concentrations. The 72-hour ErC50 value was determined to be 3.6 mg/L, and the 72-hour ErC10 value was determined to be 0.85 mg/L. Furthermore, the substance was inhibiting the respiration of activated sewage sludge in a valid GLP study. The 3-hour EC50 value for respiration inhibition was found to be 52 mg/L, and the 3-hour NOEC value was 4.9 mg/L.

On the basis of the available data in combination with the finding that the substance is not readily biodegradable, the substance should be classified for chronic aquatic toxicity, Category 2 with an M-factor of 1 in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
