Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish

1) LC50 (96h) > 43.4 mg/L (initial analytical concentration) for Danio rerio based on mortality (static, OECD 203, GLP)

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

EC10 (48h) and EC50 (48h) > 27.8 mg/L (initial analytical concentration) for Daphnia magna based on immobilisation (static, OECD 202, GLP)

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

EC10 (72h) > 100 mg/L and EC50 (72h) > 100 mg/L (initial analytical concentration) for the freshwater green algae Desmodesmus subspicatus based on growth rate (static, OECD 201, GLP)

Toxicity to microorganisms

NOEC (3h) = 320 mg/L and EC50 (3h) > 1000 mg/L for activated sludge based on respiration inhibition (OECD 209, GLP)

Additional information

Based on the tests in fish, algae and daphnia the test item is not acutely toxic up to the limit of water solubility in the different test media. Although it is expected to not accumulate in fish (BCF 20, Scheerbaum 2013) the test item is neither rapidly nor inherently biodegradable
