- Undiluted PEHA is moderately irritating to the eye. Direct contact might be slightly painful and would likely produce considerable conjunctivitis including a possible burn of the soft tissues. Slight corneal injury might result, but permanent damage would not be expected. There is indication from animal tests conducted that immediate and thorough washing of contaminated eyes should be effect it in preventing corneal injury and reduce the extent of conjunctival damage.
The 10% solutionin water of PEHA studied in the laboratory is only slightly irritating to the eye.

- It was reported that direct contact might be slightly painful and would likely produce considerable conjunctivitis including a possible burn of the soft tissues. However, based on read across with TETA it cannot be excluded that PEHA is corrosive to the eye as well.
