other: Concentration was not measured. Saturated solution was used.

Any other information on results incl. tables

The Calibration fluid (ultra clean water) showed a Surface tension of 72.7 mN/m at 19.5 °C.

According to literature data (Handbook of Chemistry and Physics Vol 75, table 6-10.) the surface tension should be 72.80 mN/m. The instrument was considered as correctly calibrated.

The results of the measurement for the test item (duplicate) and the blank solution were as follows:

Blank sample (demineralized water): 71.5 mN/m at 20.7 °C

According to literature, the surface tension of water at 20.7 °C should be 72.6 mN/m.

Sample I: 71.8 mN/m at 20.7 °C

Sample II: 69.9 mN/m at 20.7 °C

Average Surface tension : 70.9 mN/m at 20.7 °C
