To characterise the particle size distribution of the test substance, the analysis was conducted initially using an optical microscope analysis and was then undertaken more formally using a manual sieve analysis.

Sample observed to be large solid free flowing lumps that are up to 40 mm in length.

 

Observation using 3.2 objective lens

Particles < 2000 µm were used. The particles appeared to be irregular amorphous particles.

The test substance was found to be a solid block with few broken bits. Due to the small amount of material < 2000 µm present in the test substance it was not possible to carry out particle size distribution by laser diffraction.

Under the study conditions, the particle size for >99.95% by weight of the test substance was considered to be >2000 µm .
