Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If symptoms develop, seek immediate medical attention. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.
Ingestion: Seek medical attention. Immediately induce vomiting, as directed by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Skin Contact: Immediately flush with water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention if irritation persists. Professionally wash clothing and shoes before re-use.
Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists.
Notes to physicians: Treatment should be directed at preventing absorption, administering to symptoms (if they occur), and providing supportive therapy.
Fire-fighting measures
Fire: Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Cool containers/tanks with water spray. Wear suitable protective equipment.
Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. Use a water spray to cool fully closed containers. Suitable Fire Extinguishing Media: Preferably use: water spray, foam, dry chemical, carbon dioxide.
Unsuitable Extinguishing media, which must not be used for safety reasons: full water jet
Special Information: Fire fighters and others who may be exposed to the products of combustion should be equipped self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full protective clothing.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture in the event of a fire: Smoke, soot, and toxic/irritating fumes (i.e., carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, etc.). Oxides of nitrogen may be released.
Accidental release measures
Evacuation:
Isolate hazardous area. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel from entering. Eliminate all sources of ignition.
Containment:
Safely stop discharge. Contain material, as necessary, with a dike or barrier. Stop material from contaminating soil, or from entering sewers or bodies of water.
Clean-Up/Personal Protection Equipment
Appropriate safety measures and protective equipment should be used.
Collection and Disposal: Stop discharge, if safe to do so. Use proper protective equipment. Cover spills with absorbent clay or sawdust and place in closed chemical waste containers. Dispose of according to applicable regulations.
Handling and storage
Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area, away from heat, ignition sources, and direct sunlight. Keep containers tightly closed.
Contamination with alkaline materials must be avoided.
Advice on common storage: Do not store together with alkaline materials.

Exposure controls / personal protection
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each Manufacturing site.
Where applicable, written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Manufacturer/User of the Registrant’s intermediate
Exposure controls / Protective measures:
Do not inhale vapours. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Hygiene measures:
Store work clothing separately. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately.
Follow the usual good standards of occupational hygiene. Clean skin thoroughly after work; apply skin cream.
Respiratory protection: Breathing apparatus in case of high concentrations
Hand protection: Wear protective clothing and appropriate impervious gloves. Because a variety of protective gloves exist, consult glove manufacturer to determine the proper type for a specific operation. An emergency shower should be readily available.
General information: Gloves should be replaced regularly, especially after extended contact with the product. For each work-place a suitable glove type has to be selected.
Eye protection: tightly fitting goggles
Skin and body protection: On handling of larger quantities: face mask, chemical-resistant boots and apron.
Stability and reactivity
Chemical Stability: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.
Possibility of hazardous reactions: None when used as directed.
In case of intense heating, contact with acids or acidic vapours or strong oxidizing agents toxic decomposition products may be formed. In the presence of strong bases the product may poly-condensate under intense heat evolution. Burst hazard in case of tightly closed containers.
Conditions to avoid: High temperatures.
Incompatible materials: Amines, oxidizers, acids, strong bases.
Hazardous decomposition products: hydrogen cyanide
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods
Product: Waste is hazardous. It must be disposed of in accordance with the regulations after consultation of the competent local authorities and the disposal company in a suitable and licensed facility.
Uncleaned packaging: Contaminated packaging should be emptied optimally and after appropriate professional cleansing may be taken for reuse. Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of professionally. Uncontaminated packaging may be taken for recycling.
