Description of key information

Additional information

- Sodium 4-hydroxy benzene sulphonic acid  is a white solid at 20 °C.

- No melting for the substance was observed until 350 °C.

- The substance was found to have no boiling point until 350 °C.

- Density of the substance was determined to be 1.6557 g/cm³.

- The particle size distribution of the test substance was determined as follows: L10: 141.727 μm; L50: 323.812 μm; L90: 583.429 μm

- The melting point of the substance was determined to be >350 °C, hence the study for vapour pressure determination was considered scientifically not necessary.

- The n-octanol/water partition coefficent of the test item at 20 °C, from the individual solubility in water and n-octanol, was determined to be (log Pow) -2.79.

- The water solubility of the test substance at a temperature of 20 °C was determined to be 92.4 g/L.

- The surface tension of the test substance was determined to be 72.410 mN/m at room temperature ca 20 °C.

- The substance is a high melting point solid >350 °C, hence the flash point is considered to be not relevant.

- No auto-ignition was observed until 550 °C.

- The test item is considered as not highly flammable.

- The substance is considered to be non-explosive.

- As there are no chemical groups present in the molecule associated with oxidising properties, the study for evaluation of oxidising properties is considered scientifically not necessary.
