Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.9 and ISO 2719 to determine the flash point of the test item using a closed cup method withPensky-Martens apparatus. A preliminary test was performed with a search program to determine the rough flash point.For the main test about 70 g of the test item were filled in the cup. The estimated flash point from the preliminary test was used as target temperature for the main test - 104 °C. The first ignition trial of the main test was performed at a test item temperature 23±5 °C below the approximate flash point determined in the preliminary test, with a stirrer speed of 90 - 120 rpm and a heating rate of 5 – 6 K/min. The test was performed twice.The measured flash point at atmospheric pressure was corrected to a standard pressure of 1013 hPa. The flash point was determined to be at 104.82 °C (corrected to the ambient pressure). Thus, the flash point of the test item was determined to be 104.5 °C (corrected and rounded down to the nearest multiple of 0.5 °C) at 1013.25 hPa.

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008
