Additional information

Typically the purity of potassium pentahydrogen bis(phosphate) is > 90% (dry weight, after excluding water). All impurities present at >1% are other inorganic phosphates or other related inorganic substances, similar to the registered substance, and which do not significantly affect its toxicological and ecotoxicological properties. There are no hazardous impurities present within the substance at levels >0.1%.

Potassium pentahydrogen bis(phosphate) melted in the range of 127°C to 135°C and has a vapour pressure at 20°C of <1.47¯³ Pa. The water solubility of potassium pentahydrogen bis(phosphate) was calculated to be 583 g/L (mean value, 17 g/L standard deviation) at 20±1°C and is therefore considered to be very soluble. The pH of the solution was found to be pH 1.

The particle size distribution data concludes that ca. 10% of particles have a particle size of <254.4 µm and therefore potassium pentahydrogen bis(phosphate) is not considered to present an inhalation risk.

Potassium pentahydrogen bis(phosphate) is not considered to possess any of the following hazardous physico-chemical properties: autoflammability and/or self-ignition, flammability, explosiveness and oxidising properties.
