Administrative data
First-aid measures
Eye contact: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician.
Skin contact: Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Take off all contaminated clothing immediately. Call a physician immediately.
Inhalation: Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of vapours or decomposition products. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Call a physician immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Dry sodium chloride, Limestone powder).
Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons: Water, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Foam
Further information: In the event of fire, cool tanks with water spray. Be aware of a dangerous reaction with water, if the container is ruptured.
Accidental release measures
Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Avoid subsoil penetration. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.
Methods for cleaning up: Never allow contact with water. Cover spilled material with limestone powder.
Handling and storage
Safe handling advice: Handle under inert gas. Never allow water to come into contact with the product. Have eye wash bottle or eye rinse ready at the work place.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Electrical equipment should be protected to the appropriate standard.
Storage
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Protect from direct sunlight and air humidity.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Keep under inert gas. Electrical equipment should be protected to the appropriate standard.
Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection: In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. respirator with a filter
Hand protection:
Material: Flame retardant gloves
General advice: The exact break through time can be obtained from the protective glove producer and this has to be observed., Protective gloves have to be replaced at the first sign of deterioration.
Eye protection: Tightly fitting safety goggles, Have eye wash bottle or eye rinse ready at the work place.
Skin and body protection: Flame retardant protective clothing.
Hygiene measures: Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.
Stability and reactivity
Materials to avoid: Water, Acids, Carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen halides, Alcohols, Other protic substances.
Hazardous decomposition products:
Decomposes in contact with water.
- Benzene
- Lithium hydroxide
Hazardous reactions: Reacts violently with water. Risk of auto-ignition (pyrophoric substnace).
Do not overheat to avoid thermical decomposition.
Disposal considerations
Product: Contact manufacturer.
Contaminated packaging: Refer to manufacturer/supplier for information on recovery/recycling.
