- Details on results:
- The absorbance for individual samples was measured. The apparatus read out the level of concentration automatically .
The contents of chelate in the tested samples was calculated using the following formula:
X=c*25*v1/m*v2, where:
X - contents of chelate, [mg/g];
c - concentration of chelate read from the relevant calibration curve, [mg/ml]
25 - volume of flask with direct solution, [ml]
m - weighed amount of sample; [g]
v1- volume of flask from dilution, [ml]
v2 - volume of the direct solution taken for dilution, [ml] - Conclusions:
- Solubility of CaIDHA chelate in water in temperature 20 ± 0.5°C is: 695.83 mg/l.
- Executive summary:
The subject of the task was the execution of study of solubility in water for chelate CaIDHA according to the OECD Test Guideline A6 (OECD 105). The method relied on the measurement of concentration of chelate (content of chelate) in solution tested with spectrophotometer based on calibration curves (prepared for water).
The following analysis was performed:
1. Initial study (sequential procedure)
2. Measurement of pH for samples using test-papers in water,
3. Determination of mass concentration of substance tested in water using the shake - flask method:
a) UV spectrum
b) Calibration curve
c) Measurement of concentration (contents) of the chelate with spectrophotometric method after 24h, 48h as well as 72h.
All obtained results for meet the assumption of the OECD Test Guideline A6 (OECD 105): The result of determination in at least two last vessels (measurements after 48h and 72h) is not different by more than 15%. Solubility of CaIDHA chelate in water in temperature 20 ± 0.5°C is: 695.83 mg/l.
