Due to the breaking of the heating wire in every test no further repetitions were performed. It can be assumed that the heating wire would also brake in additional test runs. Therefore the wire fracture was seen as to be affected by the test item.

No burning or glowing of the mixture of thetest item/cellulose 4:1 was observed.

The mean burning time of the mixture of thetest item/cellulose 1:1 is 197 s.

Five tests were performed on the mixture of the reference substance with cellulose in the ratios 3:7, 2:3 and 3:2. The results are shown in the following table.

Due to the fact that the mixtures of the test item with cellulose (4:1) showed no flaming or glowing combustion and the mixture of the test item with cellulose (1:1) had higher mean burning times compared to the reference mixture in the ratio 3:7,it is concluded thatthe test item has no oxidizing properties.

[1]Mixtures of the reference substance with cellulose are measured within the study.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
other: no oxidising properties
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
Due to the fact that the mixtures of the test item with cellulose (4:1) showed no flaming or glowing combustion and the mixture of the test item with cellulose (1:1) had higher mean burning times compared to the reference mixture in the ratio 3:7, it is concluded that the test item has no oxidizing properties.
Executive summary:

The test itemNitrolon trockenhas no oxidizing properties in the sense of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part 34.4.1 (Test O.1). The test item has not to be classified in packing group 5.1
