Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Particle size distribution (key study): Mean distribution at 10% = 100-150 µm; 50% = 200-300 µm; 90% = 380-420 µm.

Mass Median Diameter (supporting study): 227.8 µm

Additional information

Based on the information obtained from a key study by Puech (2010), using sieve method, the mean value for test substance particles with a diameter below 100 µm was 4.6% (three batches were tested). In a supporting study conducted according to the French standard NF X 11-666, the test substance Mass Median Diameter was reported as 227.8 µm. In addition, there is material on the market with slightly lower granulometry (approx. mean value at 10% = 75 µm, 50% = 160 µm, 90% = 240 µm) which is considered to be safe when used under standard operating conditions.
