Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
oxidising solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the information and review of the substance, it is seemed not to be potentially oxidizing, based on the chemical structure, the oxygen balance value and the known experience in the handling and use of the substance.

According to the CLP Regulation (EC1272/2008), 2.14.4.1 section, for organic substances or mixtures the classification procedure for the oxidizing solid class shall not apply if the substance or mixture contains oxygen, fluorine or chlorine and these elements are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen atoms. The substance meets the screening criteria reported in the CLP Regulation, which are in principle the same as the wording in Section 6 of Appendix 6 to the UN-MTC, because it contains contains oxygen chemically bonded only to carbon, therefore the classification procedure was not applied.
