Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The known organic components of the mixture are readily biodegradable. The biodegradation potential of the unknown rest of the mixture (approx. 9%) could not be assessed since appropriate data are lacking.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Cyclohexane, oxidized, aq. ext. sodium salt is a complex mixure/UVCB according to REACH. Since the mixture consists of a variety of organic (approx. 40%) and anorganic (approx. 60%, whereof 54.4% water) components tests on biodegradability of the whole mixture are not applicable. Therefore, the biodegradation potential of the mixture based on study results (for adipic acid, succinic acid, butyric acid, formic acid, acetic acid, valeric acid, propionic acid, succinic acid, cyclohexanole and cyclohexanone), QSARS (for 6-hydroxy hexanoic acid, hex-5-enoic acid, hydroxybutyric acid and 5-oxocaproic acid) and analogue substances (butyric acid as read across for hexanoic acid; valeric acid as read across for capronic acid; butyric acid as read across for propionic acid, adipic acid as read across for glutaric acid) of the known organic components. According to OECD criteria these known organic substances are readily biodegradable. The biodegradation potential of the unknown rest of the mixture (approx. 12.3%) could not be assessed since appropriate data are lacking
