Description of key information

The substance is not flammable. The substance is neither pyrophoric nor forms flammable gases in contact with water. The substance shows no self-reactive or self-heating behaviour. The substance is no organic peroxide.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the flammability study does not need to be conducted as the flammability is deduced from flash point and boiling point.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the pyrophoric properties study does not need to be conducted as based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties are not to be expected.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the water reactivity study does not need to be conducted as based on chemical structure water reactivity is not to be expected.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the UN test series A to H for self-reactive substances and mixtures does not need to be conducted as there are no chemical groups present in the molecule associated with explosive or self reactive properties.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the UN test N 4 for self-heating substances and mixtures does not need to be conducted as the substance is a liquid.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the UN test series A to H for organic peroxides does not need to be conducted as by definition based on their chemical structure the substance is no organic peroxide.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Since all endpoints relating to flammability could be excluded either via testing, the chemical structure of the substance or its state of matter the substance does not need to be considered as flammable in the sense of regulation EC/1272/2008 (CLP) or directive 67/548/EEC (DSD).
