Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

- Flammability: SCP liquor is not highly flammable (EC 440/2008, A.10) and no classification is required .
- Flammability in contact with water: SCP liquor is regarded as not being flammable in contact with water based on the practical experience of the testing facility and the manufacturer.
- Pyrophoricity: SCP liquor is regarded as not being pyrophoric based on the practical experience of the testing facility and the manufacturer.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Flammability: The lyophilized test substance ignited, but after removing the flame extinguished within a few seconds. The test substance did not burn over a length of 200 mm within 4 minutes. Therefore the full test programme (main test) was not carried out, and SCP liquor is not classified as highly flammable, according to the test guideline (EC 440/2008, A.10).

Flammability in Contact with Water: SCP liquor is regarded as not being flammable in contact with water based on the practical experience of the testing facility and the manufacturer, showing that no gases are developed when SCP liquor is in contact with water.

Pyrophoricity: SCP liquor is regarded as not being pyrophoric base on the practical experience of the testing facility and the manufacturer, e.g. when handling small amounts of the test substance repeatedly in air.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Flammability: SCP liquor was not flammable in the preliminary flammability test, and the full test programme (main test) needed not to be carried out. SCP liquor is not classified as highly flammable, according to the test guideline (EC 440/2008, A.10).
