Additional information

A study was conducted according to DIN 51 758, Pensky-Martens. The flash point of 2 -ethylhexanoic acid was determined to be 118 °C in a closed cup.

Several literature sources reported the flash point based on experimental data to be in a range from 114 °C and 118 °C.

European Chemicals Bureau (IUCLID, 2000) reported the flash point to be 114 °C measured in a closed cup, the Fire Protection Guide to Hazardous Materials reported the flash point to be 114 °C. The

Knovel Solvents A Properties Database reported the flash point also to be 118 °C.

The value from the study was chosen as the most reliable one for the partition coefficient.
