Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain carbon and nitrogen oxides
together with some hydrogen cyanide gas and soot. Suitable
extinguishing agents are, water, foam, carbon dioxide and
dry powder. Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Powder: Sweep up and dispose of at a controlled landfill
or by incineration. Solution: Absorb using suitable
material and dispose of by incineration or at a controlled
landfill site.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid dust formation. If a dust is formed, take suitable
precautions to avoid inhalation. Avoid contact with skin.
Wear protective equipment for eyes and skin.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Unused material cannot be recovered

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable (French c.a. summary)

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at a controlled landfill site is possible. The
substance is only sparingly soluble in water.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is possible. However, the facility must be
able to deal with hydrogen cyanide gas and nitrogen oxides.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance is sparingly soluble in water. It is not
readily biodegradable and will most probably be absorbed
onto sludge. After use only 5% of the substance remains.
The concentration in waste water from dyeing operations is
200 ppm and this will be diluted ten fold before discharge.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: After application to textiles the substance cannot be
recovered.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable to substance when part of an article.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Articles containing the substance may be disposed of in the
same manner as household refuse.
