Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Guideline study conducted under GLP.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to same study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
Version / remarks:
DSC
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Atm. press.:
ca. 1 atm
Decomposition:
yes
Remarks:
exothermic
Decomp. temp.:
ca. 260
Remarks on result:
other: Pressure assumed to be ambient atmospheric.

7.35mg of sample heated at 10°C/min from 25°C to 500°C under nitrogen gas. Sharp endotherm observed at 115°C corresponding to the melting point. Black residue observed at the end of the run; 37% of starting mass.

The measurement was repeated with a 9.91mg sample from 50°C to ca. 450°C, with the similar results.

Conclusions:
The study is considered to be adequate and reliable.

Description of key information

Decomposes without boiling at ca. 260 °C, EU Method A.2, DSC, Jackson 1999

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Only a single study conducted according to guidelines and under GLP is available for this endpoint. The study is considered to be relevant, reliable (Klimisch 1) and adequate for the purposes of risk assessment, classification and labelling.
