Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 of Annex IX, the study need not be conducted if the logPow is <3. Due to the low logPow (2.89), an accumulation in aquatic organisms is not expected. Thus, and for reasons of animal welfare, no study on bioaccumulation in fish is performed.

Considering the log Kow of 2.89, the BCF for fish can be calculated according to the equation 74 of the TGD as follows:

logBCFfish            = 0.85 *· logKow  0.70

                       = 0.85 ·* 2.89   0.7

                       = 1.7565

=> BCFfish     = 57.1

A BCF of 57.1 confirms the low potential of Diuron to accumulate in the aquatic food chain. Experimental data are not considered necessary.

However, a GLP Guideline study is available for this substance, modified for use withMytilus edulis. The calculated BCF of 5.2 confirms the low potential for Diuron to bioaccumulate.
