Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove subject to fresh air. Give artificial respiration if
breathing has stopped. Seek immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash with copious amounts of water for 15 - 20 minutes. Seek
medical attention if irritation occurs.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and wash affected area with
soap and water for 15 - 20 minutes.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth thoroughly with water if the subject is
conscious. Seek immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Use agents appropriate to surrounding environment. Water or
foam are suitable.
Product arising from burning: Not determined experimentally, but may include C0, C02 plus
oxides of nitrogen.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Full protective clothing, with self-contained breathing
apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Protective clothing and respirator should be worn (see
2.3.1). Spilt material should be swept up and placed in a
sealed container (e.g. fibre drum). Spill area should then
be washed and ventilated.
Handling and storage
Handling: Use only in well-ventilated areas. Local exhaust
ventilation and careful use are recommended to minimise dust
generation. Eye protection and gloves should be worn,
together with a suitable respirator approved to EN 136 and
(e.g. North twin cartrige RP12). Local washing facilities
must be provided.
Storage: Store in sealed containers in a dry area, away from heat
sources.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: Not known.
Chemical reaction with water: Hydrolysis occurs under alkaline conditions (see 5.2.2) but
this is not a hazardous reaction.
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: SQ29,242 is consumed in the drug synthesis reaction in which
it is employed. Significant residual levels in reactor
effluent are not expected. No practical means of recovery
or recycling are known.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No chemical neutralisation method is known.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Acceptable provided that a closed-cycle incinerator with
scrubbers is employed. National regulations must be
observed.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: SQ29,242 IS NOT INTENDED FOR PUBLIC USE.
