First-aid measures
General advice:
Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
Inhalation:
Move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Keep under medical surveillance. In case of problems : Hospitalise.
Dust inhalation: Blow nose.
Skin contact:
Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/ attention.
Eye contact:
Wash well-open eyes immediately and abundantly with water for at least 15 minutes.Remove contact lenses. Remove particles remaining under the eyelids. If irritation persists, consult an ophthalmologist.
Ingestion:
Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Consult a physician.
Protection of first-aiders:
Protective suit. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment.
Most important symptoms/effects, acute and delayed:
Inhalation may provoke the following symptoms: respiratory tract irritation.
Ingestion may provoke the following symptoms: Discomfort.
Skin contact may provoke the following symptoms: Prolonged contact may cause allergic reactions, redness, irritation.
Eye contact may provoke the following symptoms: Irritation.
Indication of immediate medical attention and special treatment needed, if necessary:
Treatment: Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2), Foam, Dry powder.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Dust may form explosive mixture in air.
Thermal decomposition giving flammable and toxic products :Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide (CO2), phosphorous oxides, sulfur oxides, Hydrogen fluoride, Hazardous organic compounds.
Advice for firefighters:
Special protective actions for fire-fighters:
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Wear personal protective equipment. Evacuate non-essential staff and those not equipped with individual protection apparatus. Prohibit all sources of sparks and ignition - Do not smoke. Avoid dust formation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes and inhalation of dust. In the case of respirable dust, use self-contained breathing apparatus. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment.
Environmental precautions:
Do not release into the environment. Do not flush into surface water. Do not let product enter drains.
Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Dust deposits should not be allowed to accumulate on surfaces, as these may form an explosive mixture if they are released into the atmosphere in sufficient concentration. Ventilate the area.
Remove spillage with vacuum cleaner. If not possible, collect spillage with shovel, broom or the like. Collect and place in suitable waste disposal containers and seal.
Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
Technical measures/Precautions:
Storage and handling precautions applicable to products: Solid. Dust forming. Forming EXPLOSIVE mixtures with air. Sensitizing. Dangerous for the environment.
Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery. Provide electrical earthing of equipment. Provide self-contained breathing apparatus nearby. Provide showers, eye-baths.
Safe handling advice:
Avoid dust formation. In case of dust formation, wear a dust mask. Avoid accumulation of static charges during transfers in metallic systems. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Do not smoke.
Hygiene measures:
When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Prohibit contact with skin and eyes and inhalation of dust.
Wash hands after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Store in original container. Keep in a dry, cool place. Protect from light. Store in well ventilated area away from heat and sources of ignition such as flame, sparks and static electricity. Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge. Provide electrical earthing of equipment and electrical equipment usable in explosive atmospheres. Ensure all equipment is electrically grounded before beginning transfer operations.
Incompatible products:
Strong oxidizing agents, strong reducing agents , strong acids, strong bases.
