Description of key information
The test substance did not shown any toxicity to domestic sewage sludge microorganisms up to a concentration of 1000 mg/l in a guideline test according to OECD 209 method.

The available respiration inhibition test with activated sludge from a municipal STP processing mainly domestic sewage was performed in accordance with OECD TG 209. All validity criteria were fulfilled. A range-finding test with nominal concentrations of 10, 100 and 1000 mg/L was conducted. The substance did not inhibit the microbial activity of the activated sewage sludge after three hours of incubation with continuous aeration. The 3-hour NOEC for inhibition of respiration was equal to or greater than 1000 mg/L. As no toxicity was seen at 1000 mg/l (nominal, measured in triplicates) according to OECD 209 guideline no definitive test was necessary.
