Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice : Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
First aider needs to protect himself.
Place affected clothing in a sealed bag for subsequent decontamination.
Inhalation : If breathed in, move person into fresh air.
Skin contact : Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.
Wash off with soap and plenty of water.
Call a physician if irritation develops or persists.
Eye contact : Rinse with running water whilst keeping the eyes wide open (at least 15
minutes)
Ingestion : Do NOT induce vomiting.
Do not give anything to drink.
Consult a physician if necessary.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media : Water spray
Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Unsuitable extinguishing media : None known.
Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be
discharged into drains.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Specific hazards during firefighting : Risk of dust explosion.
Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for firefighters : Full protective suit
Self-contained breathing apparatus (EN 133)
Specific fire fighting methods : Cool containers / tanks with water spray.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes.
Respirator with a particle filter (EN 143)
Boots
Wear suitable protective equipment.
Mark the contaminated area with signs and prevent access to unauthorized
personnel.
Signal word
Environmental precautions : Do not allow uncontrolled discharge of product into the environment.
Methods for Cleaning or Taking Up
Recovery : Keep in properly labelled containers.
Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Decontamination/cleaning :
Wash with sodium carbonate solution (5% Na2 CO3).
Wash off with plenty of water.
Handling and storage
Handling
Technical measures : Earth the equipment.
Advice on safe handling and usage :
Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge.
Do not use compressed air for filling, discharging or handling.
Do not allow contact with air.
Protect from moisture.
Avoid dust formation.
Do not get in eyes or mouth or on skin.
Storage
Storage conditions
Recommended :
Local ventilation required when opening the packaging.
Keep container tightly closed and dry.
Incompatible products :
Strong oxidizing agents
Acids
Alkalis and caustic products.
humid air and water
Packaging Measures
Packaging conditions :
Store in original container., Paper bag lined with a plastic film., Flexible container lined with a plastic film., Cardboard container lined with a plastic film., Stainless steel container under dry inert gas., glass bottles
Packaging materials - Recommended : Plastic materials (polyethylene).
Packaging materials - To be avoided : Steel, Aluminium and its alloys

Exposure controls / personal protection
1. Technical protection measures: Dust must be extracted directly at the point of origin.
2. Organisational protection measures:
Hygiene measures :
Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location
Use clean, well-maintained personal protection equipment.
Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.
When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
Protective measures :
The protective equipment must be selected in accordance with current CEN standards and in cooperation with the supplier of the protective equipment.
Selection of appropriate personal protective equipment should be based on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the protective equipment
relative to the task(s) to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the potential hazards and/or risks that may occur during use.
General advice : Do not allow uncontrolled discharge of product into the environment.
3. Hand protection: Where there is a risk of contact with hands, use appropriate gloves
4. Feet protection: protective shoes
5. Body protection: Protective suit
6. Eye protection: Safety glasses with side-shields
7. Respiratory protection:
Use a respirator with an approved filter if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary.
Handling product in bulk: Respirator with a particle filter (EN 143)
Stability and reactivity
Chemical stability : Partially hydrolyses at room temperature on contact with humidity.
Hazardous reactions
Conditions to avoid : Risk of dust ignition in air at concentrations greater than 30 g/m3. > 15 g/m3
Materials to avoid :
Strong acids
strong oxidizing agents
Alkalis and caustic products.
Water
Aqueous solution
Decomposition products :
On combustion or on thermal decomposition (pyrolysis) releases:
toxic vapours.
(Carbon oxides (CO + CO2)).
(Phenol).
Disposal considerations
Product Disposal
Prohibition : Do not dispose of with domestic refuse.
Advice on Disposal : Must be incinerated in a suitable incineration plant holding a permit delivered by the competent authorities.
Advice on cleaning and disposal of packaging
Advice : Cleaning is not required prior to disposal.
Other data : Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
