ABIOTIC DEGRADATION INAIR

DIRECT PHOTOLYSIS in air
C8-14 Perfluoroalkylethyliodidesdo not absorb light >290 nm (ozone band) and therefore a direct photolysis in air will not occur.

INDIRECT PHOTOLYSIS in air

OH radical induced indirect photolysis ofC8-14 Perfluoroalkylethyliodides may occur at the unfluorinated CH2-CH2 group.

ABIOTIC DEGRADATION IN WATER

HYDROLYSIS

C8-14 Perfluoroalkylethyliodidesdo not hydrolyze at environmentally relevant pH 4, 7 and 9 at 50 °C for 5 days (Clariant, 2010, Hydrolysis of C6, C8 and C8 Perfluoroalkylethyliofides at pH 4, 7 and 9, OECD Guideline 111).
