Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- Surface tension:
- 52.8 mN/m
- Temp.:
- 20 °C
- Conc.:
- 1 g/L
- Conclusions:
- The surface tension is 52.8 mN/m at 20°C and at a concentration of 1 g/L.
Reference
The calibration factor is determined by measuring the Surface Tension of water and comparing the value obtained in literature. The corrected value is taken from a table compiled on the basis of the Harkins-Jordan correction.
The final surface tention value is the mean value of two surface tension readings, which are 52.0 mN/m and 54.5 mN/m.
Description of key information
The surface tension of the test substance was determined to be 52.8 mN/m at 20°C and at a concentration of 1 g/L, following EU test method A.5 using the ring method (Baker, 2010).
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Surface tension:
- 52.8
- in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
- 1 000
Additional information
The test substance shows some surface activity.
