Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The substance is considered to be readily biodegradable as demonstrated in various Closed Bottle Tests. Complete removal from the waste water in biological wastewater treatment plants was demonstrated in a CAS test. Removal occured primarily through biodegradation as confirmed by chemical analysis.

The 10-day time window has been ignored as a pass fail criterion. Poor water solubility and/or adsorption of the substance onto solids do affect biodegradation kinetics because of low desorption and dissolution rates of the test substance. Dissolution and desorption rates in the tests do probably not reflect these processes in the environment because concentrations used in the tests are a few orders higher than the environmental concentrations.
