Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with large amounts of water for at least
15 minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry powder and foam may be used.
Containers should be cooled with water spray.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulfur.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Gloves and safety glasses should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1). Prevent
spreading of spill using dikes. Absorb using earth, sand,
sawdust or other absorbent material. Transfer to suitable
labelled containers and dispose of by incineration in
accordance with local regulations. Do not allow spilt
material to enter water courses.
Handling and storage
Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Protective clothing, butyl
rubber gloves, apron, boots, safety goggles and a plastic
face shield should be worn. Splash proof filling and
measuring devices should be used to minimise contact.
Storage: Store at room temperature in a dark place in tightly sealed
containers. Keep away from over-heating and radical
polymerisation initiators.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: The pH of aqueous solutions gradually decreases above
35 deg C.
Chemical reaction with water: Gradually hydrolyses at elevated temperatures (eg 3% after
10 days at "above 60 deg C").
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known (alkaline hydrolysis should cleave the ester
linkages but the potentially more hazardous allyl groups
would remain).
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility using temperatures
of 800 deg C for 30 minutes. Waste gas treatment to remove
oxides of nitrogen and sulfur should be fitted.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
